Test Your Mettle

The Sun in Cancer puts friends, groups or community in focus, but there's a rocky road at first as Mercury clashes with Uranus, bringing tension with partners, close associates and dealings with authority. You'll either take on a professional or personal challenge, or someone will test your mettle. Get the details right and enlist the support of co-workers. Be warm and straightforward in social dealings to turn a trick or gain sympathy, even if you have to break with routine. It'll be worth it! There's talk with friends or groups and you will set something you want in balance with what's required. One demand will mitigate another, or children or lovers will veto other activities. Watch spending, especially where lifestyle is concerned.

Negotiation is the key on Jul 3 and 4. Action from someone close will send you on a different path, or open a door. Venus slips into Gemini at that time, bringing professional dealings or the public into focus. Mix business and pleasure. A change in lifestyle, romance or recreation is in the air, as you make adjustments with career, spending or life direction in the wake of a lunar eclipse at the Full Moon in Capricorn on Jul 7. Set new plans, practices or duties in place on Jul 9 to 12. There'll be a bright new direction or a feisty or energetic male to deal with. You'll feel emotional or deal with emotional people on Jul 13. Don't be swayed or misled, but be compassionate.

Look to the inner and creative from Jul 17, as Mercury slips into Leo. You'll have a timeout, deal with the past or lay plans. If you hit a wall or an obstacle in professional dealings or responsibilities on Jul 21, wait it out and be patient. A New Moon and a total solar eclipse comes in the sign of Cancer on Jul 22. Change, disruption or a cyclic end will touch friendships, group activity or community action, perhaps affecting lifestyle. With the Sun in Leo on that day, work behind the scenes, reflect and take in what you see without precipitate action. Prepare for clashes or changes involving career and close personal dealings, but daily life will open avenues. If co-workers want to argue, stay clear of excess.

Applying the Brakes

Mercury is at speed in Gemini, bringing advance in career or profession through detail, little jobs and the daily round. If health is an issue, don't let it spiral out of control. Travel or communication will be testing or testy, all first up. Deal with it all responsibly then pass, with the messenger to Cancer, into the realm of friends or groups from Jul 3 and 4. Good plans are possible on Jul 12 and 13, as long as you don't get lost in feeling or sentiment. Jul 17 sees Mercury in Leo, so slow down, engage creatively or spiritually, reflect and plan while avoiding the odd verbal spray. Daily life will demand more than you want to give at the end.

Social Poise

With Venus in Taurus, exotic links or dining will feature, as will study or travel. However, it'll be a topsy-turvy ride so keep your head by relying on advice or support from close quarters. Jul 5 sees the goddess in Gemini, bringing dealings with professionals or the public into the frame. There will be the test of responsibility or delay on Jul 21 and the last week will see a bit more topsy-turvy stuff in close associations, but you'll get it right by attending to detail.

Setting the Pace

Mars begins in Taurus, clashing with Chiron, Neptune and Jupiter in Aquarius, thus bringing testing conditions with study or the law or dealings with males around Jul 5. You'll be pushed to new activities and academics or foreign folk, males especially, will feature. Take care if travelling overseas. Close companions will feature or support you, as will a partner. Jul 12 brings Mars to Gemini, sending you on diverse or varied paths of action. You'll take on tasks or duties and males will feature with career or professional moves. Travel or communications will somehow be part of a new cycle of responsibilities and 'action' will be the watchword.
